Bishop L. Deon Williams has dedicated most of his life to serving the Lord. With experience in church leadership, teaching, choir directing, and preaching, his ministry journey formally began in 1995 in Flint, Michigan. He often reflects on a revival night in August of that year, when he realized he had “known God all his life,” a moment that helped shape his lifelong commitment to ministry.
Bishop Williams pursued higher education at Eastern Michigan University, where he studied Psychology. He later attended Slidell Baptist Seminary, earning both Associate and Bachelor’s degrees in Theology and Ministry Leadership, graduating Magna Cum Laude. In August 2021, he completed his Master of Divinity degree, and in 2023, he began pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Ministry at Andersonville Theological Seminary.
His preaching ministry began in 2014 at Bethlehem Temple of Praise in Wayne, Michigan, where he served as the church’s first Youth Pastor. Under his leadership, the children’s and youth ministries experienced significant growth, impacting more than 100 young people. In September 2021, under the guidance of Pastor Rodrick K. Green at New Hope Baptist Church of Ann Arbor, Bishop Williams was ordained to gospel ministry.
Bishop Williams has served in numerous ministry roles across Southeast Michigan and Louisville, Kentucky, including launching youth and young adult ministries, mentorship initiatives, music ministry leadership, and public relations efforts. He has also been involved with the Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) and various ministerial alliances, further extending his service within the broader church community.
In July 2022, Bishop Williams was consecrated as an Overseer under Bishop Derrick D. Robinson and Kingdom Destiny Fellowship International. In October 2023, he and New Macedonia Church became Charter Members of Alliance Covenant Leaders Worldwide, where he currently serves as Dean of the Worship & Arts Department under Archbishop Jonathan R. Mitchell. In December 2024, he was elected Bishop-Elect for the Class of 2025, and in August 2025, he was consecrated as a Bishop in the Lord’s Church.
Bishop Williams is also the owner of Nehemiah Collective LLC, a ministry umbrella that reflects his diverse gifts and focuses on leadership development, mentorship, and young male grooming and counseling. His ministry has been shaped by the teachings and influence of many respected leaders, including the late Rev. Dr. J.C. Curry, Rev. Dr. Robert E. Bailey, Bishop Jerry L. Boose, Pastor Rodrick K. Green, Dr. Waverly Bumbrey, Dr. Terrance Bridges, Rev. Mattie Hunter, Rev. Wardell Jones, Rev. George Waddles Jr., Pastor M. Berry, Pastor M.A. Flaniken, Superintendent Herman Love, and Bishop James Covington, among others.
In September 2021, Bishop Williams married his soulmate, Elect Lady Prophetess Z’Keiya J. Williams, a Detroit native. The couple welcomed their son, L. Deon Williams II, in August 2022.
His achievements include being named a Michigan Chronicle 2024 “40 Under 40” honoree and becoming a published author. His book Battles and Ballads was released in June 2025, followed by his book Bare, released in January 2026. In September 2025, he launched Voices of Nehemiah, with plans to record in early 2026. Bishop Williams can also be found on all streaming platforms under the name “Rev. d.”
